Cry dove cry
The veranda
This softly lit place
Of ferns and birds
Where I lay upon my love seat
Dreaming of holidays
In the sun
Baby dove, peace dove
White feathers

The breeze
Meditating on peace
The fluttering of wings
The mother dove she sings
She feeds her chics
The nest keeps
In this place

Quiet

Evening twilight falling
Upon the brickwork
Yellow turning to blue
Wind in the leaves
Building standing
A steeple
An Australian flag
Inside peaceful
Tears of grace
Light falling
Try to pray
Read the good book
But nothing comes from us
For Christ works through us
Sandstone strong
Sunlit bricks
Warm
I wonder when I will go home
And somehow live my life
But sho are we to complain
For some have more
And some less
And we try and try
And people they cry
Nobody really wants to die
Farewell sunlight
Now it is night
Maybe we can look up to see a star
Shining bright
Over the steeple

Sunday

I went to Wendy's for some ice cream
Then I went and bought some blue jeans
Then I went home and put them on
With a hot designer top
I drove into town to party
I told everyone I'm a poet
I danced around slowly and sultrily
Is that a word?
My word ha ha
I picked up a blonde traveller
We went to my flat and snogged
Next day I layed in the sun with a hangover
Drinking coffee
whilst the words in the true crime novel
I had borrowed from my x who is still a friend
hit my forhead like slugs
So I put it down
And gazed throught the treetops
At the sky
Once in a life
And fantasized
About the guy from last night
Never to be heard of again
And sunned myself
And leafed the book
And gazed
And fantasized
For most of the arvo
Finally I went home and ate
And ironed my clothes for the next day
And watched some TV.

Love/Sexy

Once in a lifetime
Golden opportunity
To join the fire brigade
And rescue little boys and girls
And their Mummies and Daddies
