I don’t know about this unrequited love habit,
is that because I had a weekend father?
I don’t know about getting drunk and then writing poetry
Is that because it doesn’t matter?
It was just a dream honey.
I’ve run out of money
I’m sitting here getting lonely
May as well have eggs and coffee
sitting down to read the funnies.
Before you put me away with the loonies
May as well suck a lolly
May as well try to remain jolly.
There’s no point getting down
So I”m acting like a clown
I’m feeling too sweet
I thought it was kind of neat
Until I missed a beat
Just for toffee's sake press delete
Dreaming, curled up in a sheet.
I used to miss my Dad, now more than ever
Now that he’s been taken away to heaven.
So Lassy the diagnosis is just
A typical Freudian father complex.
And the only solution is the 12 bar blues.
And I lost my shoes.
In which I danced around
Like a kangaroo
You must just think I’m a fool
Hell I’m almost ruined
Anyway who asked you for an opinion
On this summers eve of endless didgeredoo
Oh dear what can I do.

Getting Ignored.
I went to extremes to get your attention
Don't know what it was, imbalanced perception
Don't know who I am without your reception
Perhaps it was wine that made this conception
Just sent the text to make a connection
Said stuff you shouldn't mention
wishing I could ease my tension
Now I wish I had stuck with convention
Withering underneath a grey heaven
Chain smoking, sitting at home on the pension
You were mean to me about my suspension
You said the whole thing was all my invention
I didn't mean to cause this contention
I just fucked up with no intervention
I fell for your little pretension
and then you put me on detention
I wonder if you have comprehension
Of what it's like in this dimension
Or even if you have recollection
Turning your back on loves ascension.
At least if we could ease this rejection
Go back to before, heal the abstention
To cause offense was not my intention
Maybe you're right it was all a projection
Now sitting here upon reflection
Madly missing your affection
Vainly hoping to win the election
Just to be a part of the collection
I'm wondering around lost in indirection
furiously crying over my imperfection
when I was humble for correction
and all I wanted was your protection.
You probably think it sounds like an obsession
And that you're very busy with your profession
that theres someone else with which you have some progression
I'm telling you now this is all sexual repression
You're just a dark horse, you made an impression
And then I acted with indiscretion
and so you fled in a different direction
Then you come out of nowhere again with the usual self possession
Put it down to intuition
It has it's pleasures, my submission
I'm in deep need of recognition
Although I am not quite the tactician
You act like a talented magician
although you suffer from inhibitions
You are your very own musician
Cast me aside from your ambition
Making your plans like a clinician
Whilst I am sitting at home mixing potions
No opportunity for discussion
totally missing my devotion.
Will you give into the temptation
And have a taste of my dedication
Stop at once the sarcastic definitions
And come over to my house for nights of perfection.

Fire and Ice. (sacrifice)
No words
Only music
Violin and piano
Red wine
Four four time
A track that begins slowly
With violin and piano
A concerto
That builds up
Gradually
About some lovers, friends
Wait
It has the sound of birds and whales
It reminds you of the sun and moon
Fire and Ice.
And sugar and spice.
If it had an aroma
I believe there's a parfum
Of the same name
I could perhaps wear.
The drums are deep, African
May as well
Write it in the Key of E
It's full of African superstition
About the rain Gods and sacrifice.
I don't know how it ends yet
You'll have to wait and see
hopefully
On notes fluttering
Gracefully
The double bass is tempting
And the violins making a pass
The drums are steady
And the saxaphone is brass
And the piano is curious.
No words then
The secret is a rest
The crescendo is in question
About where she's got to go
And the violin would really like to know
Write me the masterpiece
Please.
A song of love and peace
Sleep in my eyes
It would be good for this music to have clear sunny skies.
But if it rains
if it rains
It'll only be a little sound
And you never know what the sax will say
Because the sun always comes out.
Only music
Violin and piano
Red wine
Four four time

Angels.
When will the angels come
In chariots of fire
When will they say
the day has come
That we can go home
How long our suffering,
toil and Blame
And when will the angels do
all the world their grace?
In chariots of fire
When will they say
the day has come
That we can go home
How long our suffering,
toil and Blame
And when will the angels do
all the world their grace?
Kidnapped
Livin' in the city it's humid and breezy
Movin' to the country it's rugged and sunny
Talkin' to the negro
Go home and so low
Raisin' your eyebrow
at the bad below.
At One O' Clock
Have lunch
And a smoke
At Two O Clock
Back to work
Until you get on the train
Goin' home again
It's all good in theory
But How do you do?
It's not so much what you say
But how much will you pay
You're lucky to be born
to be alive at all
Not to be kidnapped
And not to be sapped
Look out or the lightning
Could zap you.
Who will rule
And who will work the mule?
But when you're livin' in the city
It's city lights.
Movin' to the country it's rugged and sunny
Talkin' to the negro
Go home and so low
Raisin' your eyebrow
at the bad below.
At One O' Clock

Life
All our hearts are beating
Beating to the drum
All of us are children
Born from our Mum
The world keeps spinning
In the universe
The earth orbiting the sun
The moon orbiting the earth
Angles moving
Above the clouds
persons working below
Life comes and it goes
Children singing
and elephants walking
Men who are building
And women smiling
In life you read the signs
In life you can fall behind
In life you can fall in love
And be as peaceful as a dove
Here where I live, downunder
In the golden land
I trace your footprints
In the sand
Style and substance
Money and church
It's a matter of getting up
When you're hurt
And moving on
To the beat of the drum
Dancing the rituals
And getting along.

Spring and Autumn
Black velvet
Eyeliner
Butterflies
A red plush couch
A silk scarf
A hat box
The eiffel tower
A wedding ring
These are just
A few of the things
I have seen.
A love heart
With a cupids arrow
Succulent
as bone marrow
A telephone
made of plastic
Hair all done up
With elastics
Use visa
It's fantastic
Sea shells all out of reach
Shining prettily upon the beach
There's a wave
here it comes
To wash away
the woes begun
by stress
Toes peeking out
of a dress
What's your secrets
Pray confess.

Diana
Social engineers
Wicked stepmothers
head fuckers
Fucking with her brain
She had a family
She had a family tree
I wish they'd let her be
I wish they'd set her free
Reputation, steralisation
Tryna make her tame
Born again Christians
the number nine
and perverts
leering
At her behind
She sung in the shower
she sung
She danced, she had passion
She thought philosophy
was fashion
It's the headfuckers
Freaking her out
It's the evil eye
Tearing her heart out
They say
she's a lunatic
And what can she do
Blame it on the moon
'The dish ran
Away with the spoon'
Within their hearts
Is there room?

Soon.
As oil on troubled water
I will bring you love
I am the woman who goes to the well
I am the peaceful dove
I am the lock, I am the key
You are before me on your knees
There is no need to feel bad
there is no need to be mad
I never want you to feel sad.
Its as if you feel as though you've been had
It as if everything turned bad
As oil on troubled water
I will set you free
I will let you be
I am the master and you are the slave
I am the lady and you are the knave
In the dirt where you lie ashamed
I will quench your thirst and cleanse your wounds
I will carry you to my room
I will sweep the floor with a broom
So Mother Mary can visit you soon.
I will bring you love
I am the woman who goes to the well
I am the peaceful dove
I am the lock, I am the key
You are before me on your knees
There is no need to feel bad
there is no need to be mad
